DHANUSHA DISTRICT

Dhanusha is one of the eastern Terai districts where the Rural Community Infrastructure Works (RCIW) Programme was implemented in 1996. The district achieved its physical targets by exercising different RCIW tools and processes for community development from 1996 up to now in collaboration with different line agencies.

Resource available for this year was 736.9 MT of rice (including 236.9 MT of last year balance) and total MLD cashes 2.798 million. The MLD cash distribution was 1 million for material, 0.2 million for skilled labor, 0.86 million for ITSH expenditure and 0.762 million for administrative expenditure. Besides that 3.15 million DSCO cash for construction material and skilled labor was also available. Inspite of budget cut, VDC cash for unskilled labor and gravel cost was also available. Besides that additional 1.9 million-worth KFW fund as gabion box and geotex terram sheet was also available from last year balance.

The total expenditure for projects implemented during the physical year 2001/2002 is around NRs.20.074 million. The expenditure including NRs 10.599 million rice (707 MT of rice), 1 million worth of construction material of MLD, 3.15 million of DSCO and 1.9 million worth of GTZ as KFW fund, 0.2 million for skilled labor, Nrs. 0.86 million as ITSH cost, Nrs. 0.937 million VD.C cash for unskilled labor and gravelling cost, 1.644 million as users contribution in, 0.5 million DDC cash for maintenance.
